The Border Patrol says the incident occurred somewhere along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area. The Border patrol says the attackers quickly retreated back into Mexico....
Washington Times: Social Security Siphon On its way to bankruptcy, Social Security will get there a bit sooner if President Bush, Republican senators (and prospective presidential candidates) John McCain, Chuck Hagel and Sam Brownback and the overwhelming majority of Democratic senators get their way. As Stephen Dinan reported in The Washington Times yesterday, the Bush administration has reached an agreement with Mexico that would permit illegal aliens, after they are granted amnesty in the future, to claim Social Security benefits for the work they performed while in the United States illegally, even if the illegal aliens committed felonies by using fraudulent Social Security documents to obtain their jobs....
Human Events: We Need Compassion for Our Border Guards President Bush pardoned 16 criminals including five drug dealers at Christmastime, but so far has refused to pardon the two U.S. Border Patrol agents who were trying to defend Americans against drug smugglers. It makes us wonder which side the self-proclaimed "compassionate" president is on. Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were guarding the Mexican border near El Paso, Texas, on Feb. 17, 2005, when they intercepted a van carrying 743 pounds of marijuana. For what happened next, they were convicted and sentenced under a statute that was designed to impose heavy punishment on criminal drug smugglers caught in the commission of a crime. The two agents are scheduled to start 11-year and 12-year prison terms, respectively, on Jan. 17, for the crime of putting one bullet in the buttocks of the admitted drug smuggler...
EtherZone: Globalists and Neocons Deny North American Union Every conservative web site and commentator opposed to the NAFTA super highway is fast to explain that its purpose is to connect the cheaper ports in Mexico with the markets in the U.S. and Canada bypassing the more expensive U.S. and Canadian longshoremen and stevedores as well as loading more freight on Mexican trucks with their cheaper drivers and fewer safety regulations. Medved acts like no such highway is planned, but one needs only look at the Texas Deportment of Transportation web site to see that it is not just planned but well on the way to being built. One can also look at the Kansas City Inland Port web site to see that the NAFTA super highway will run through Kansas City and connect to major cities in the U.S. and Canada. The port will also include a Mexican Customs station. Medved mentions none of this in his sniveling whine. He just pretends the NAFTA super highway is a “delusion...
Canada Free Press: The North America Union's Mexico Connection Mexico is sitting pretty in the event of the formation of a North American Union (NAU). Its Third World status would be wiped off the slate in the NAU. That's because the United States of America has already absorbed millions of Mexicans and millions more keep pouring over the border. "In a letter dated February 2004, no less an authority than Arizona Senator John McCain recognized that Border Patrol apprehension figures demonstrated that "almost four million people crossed our borders illegally (in) 2002—experts on the subject agree that illegal crossings have only increased since then." (www.theamericanresistance.com). "The Tucson sector Border Patrol union Local 2544 on the number of illegal aliens in our nation: "There are currently 15 to 20 million illegal aliens in this country by many estimates, but the real numbers could be much higher and the numbers increase every day because our borders are not secure (no matter what the politicians tell you—don't believe them for a second)...
Fox News: Homeland Security to Train Local Virginia Police in Immigration Enforcement Herndon, Va., police officers could soon get the training needed to help them enforce federal immigration laws. Police Chief Toussaint Summers said Wednesday the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement has approved his request to work out an agreement that will allow his officers to exercise some federal authority. A written agreement between the federal agency and local officials will be worked out after the town council holds a public hearing on the proposal. Summers said once that's approved, two senior special agents from ICE will be assigned to work with Herndon police on immigration law enforcement....
WorldNetDaily: Social Security Billions Could Go to Mexicans An organization of retirees has announced the release, after three years of arguments and a Freedom of Information request, by the Social Security Administration of a copy of the first known public copy of the U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement. The TREA Senior Citizens League said the document reveals what was expected, a huge threat to the future of Social Security, because any Mexican worker who has as little as 18 months of employment history in the United States could end up qualifying for some Social Security retirement benefits....
Devvy Kidd: A Nation Held Hostage - The Final Phase As we go into 2007, America is still being held hostage by the rotten, corrupt cabal we call the U.S. Congress and the Bush Administration. There are a few in Congress that have been stepping up to the plate to warn the American people on such serious issues as the illegals invasion and the North American Union. However, according to Michael Medved in his hysterical rant on December 28, 2006, it's all just the imaginings of some crazies...
Joanne Kelley - Rocky Mountain News Tough on Immigration Colorado employers could face stiff penalties if they fail to take extra steps to determine whether new hires can legally work here. The new state law - known as House Bill 1017 - likely casts the widest net of a handful of new anti-illegal immigration measures passed in 2006. The law took effect Monday. Many businesses are still getting up to speed on how to comply, and some small outfits might not even know about it yet. "A lot of them are so tied up in running their businesses, they're not aware of it," said Lynn Jerzyk, human resource manager for One- point Employer Solutions, which handles payroll for about 200 clients. Jerzyk, whose firm is based at the Denver Tech Center, has contacted employers to let them know it can't process their payroll checks unless they send all the relevant documents showing they have followed the new law each time they hire a new worker.
WorldNetDaily Illegals Kill Deputy in New Year's Eve Hit and Run
A sheriff's deputy in Georgia was killed on his way to work this morning in a traffic crash with two suspected illegal aliens. Deputy Loren Lilly, who had been with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office for 18 years, was pronounced dead at the scene after his Honda Accord flipped several times after being struck by a Ford Taurus. "No one ever likes to roll up on an accident with anyone deceased on scene, or serious injuries," Marietta police officer Casey Camp told WXIA-TV. "Obviously, being in law enforcement, none of us wants to roll up and see one of our fellow officers or deputies on the scene as well." Witnesses say the driver and passenger in the Taurus ran from the scene. Police later arrested the two, 27-year-old Joel Perea, and 23-year-old Maurilio Herrera.

What NBC's Tom Brokaw Didn't Report Last week, NBC's Tom Brokaw presented a one-hour television special on ILLegal immigration, "In the Shadow of the American Dream." During the program, this great American soft-pedaled ILLegals' impact on Vail, Aspen, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Colorado and the Roaring Fork Valley. Brokaw used platitudes to describe a growing attitude of anarchy—as if it were okay to break our laws. He presented an entire extended-family of ILLegal aliens on national television. Only one of the sixteen who resided in that house warranted American citizenship—a two year old anchor baby. Instead of being arrested and deported, the adults reported for work as you read this column today.
Associated Press Immigration Ranked Top Story of '06 The frustrations that Arizonans have long felt over illegal immigration spread in 2006 to states far from the border. Border woes were already dominating Arizona's politics when immigrant rights supporters took to the streets this past spring in Arizona and other states. An estimated 100,000 people marched in Phoenix to urge Congress to let illegal immigrants become U.S. citizens. Before the marches, Gov. Janet Napolitano had already proposed sending National Guard troops to the Arizona-Mexico border to help immigration agents, state lawmakers had pitched ideas on reducing illegal immigration, and a new approach to cracking down on immigrant smugglers was taking shape.
Joan Harrold Messner - The Family Security Foundation Shame On North Carolina’s DMV: What Are They Thinking? Marine Cpl. Brian Mathews, 21, of Columbia, N.C., was killed recently, not by a sniper in the Iraq war, from which he’d returned home in one piece, but by a drunk illegal alien who obtained his driving license in North Carolina. In North Carolina, one does not have to provide proof of legal status to obtain a legal driver’s license. In North Carolina, your family pet can get a driving license.
Mathew’s squad leader remembered Mathews’ unflinching performance under fire when their unit walked into a sniper ambush in Iraq last year. According to the World Net Daily, Cpl. Robinson said, “he was beside me the whole time; he was giving his team commands. He was a perfectionist Marine, and it really showed. We didn’t have one casualty or one killed
in action in the ambush”.

Our Constitution and Our Borders James Madison, our 4th President, mindful that there would be those who would tinker with the Constitution admonished these meddlers thusly, "Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government." The separation of text from historical background is a common occurrence in our nation today. Advocates of one cause or another routinely alter and misrepresent the meaning of various portions of the Constitution to justify divers, and often conflicting, agendas.
Jerome R. Corsi - Human Events Michael Medved Loses His Cool Over North America Union
Film critic and talk show host Michael Medved has decided to put in print on Townhall.com the attack he has frequently broadcast on radio against those of us who are opposing the North American integration being pursued by the Bush Administration activity under the auspices of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. Without specifying exactly whom he is attacking, Medved uses his Townhall.com piece to launch into an emotionally charged diatribe against what he calls “a shameless collection of lunatics and losers; crooks, cranks, demagogues, and opportunists” who are whipping up a “mounting hysteria over the looming menace of a ‘North American Union.’” Medved then proceeds to characterize in equally emotionally charged language the argument as “a secret master plan to join the U.S., Canada and Mexico in one big super-state and then to replace the good old Yankee dollar with a worthless new currency called ‘The Amero.’”
The Family Security Foundation Illegal Aliens Bring Generations Of Poverty With Them
Many legal immigrants to the US are highly educated. In contrast, most illegal aliens are very poorly educated. The average education levels for Mexican fathers, a large component of the illegal alien population, and their U.S.-born children are at the bottom of the educational spectrum. Uneducated immigrants, regardless of heritage or ethnicity, who have little interest in education, generally end up with poorly educated children. While the averages are already bad, the education gap between Mexican and non-Mexican natives is far larger than the simple averages would indicate. So even in the fourth generation - after at least fifty to sixty years of "assimilation," it appears that the descendents of Mexican immigrants display scant interest in higher education. This is a stunning finding. It belies the expectation that college-based affirmative action programs would eventually level the education playing field.
Elizabeth Putnam - News-Times Hiring Illegals Hurts Other Businesses Employers who hire illegal immigrants should be fined, if not arrested.
That's what Joe Neverisky sees as a solution to his problem: Undocumented workers in Danbury are creating a cheaper labor market, making it difficult for him to make a living in construction, he said. Neverisky, who just dissolved his construction company Kalo, LLC at the end of the year because of little revenue, said employers who hire illegal immigrants at low wages are able to "low ball" him on jobs. "Their bids are lower, and I have to sell myself," he said. "I can't go as low." Neverisky is one of a handful of contractors in the Danbury area who say they are fed up with employers who hire illegal immigrants to save money. "You have to have insurance and proper licenses for your employees, but some contractors just aren't abiding by the law," he said.
Family Security Matters: How Can America Avoid Corrosive Effects of Balkanization? It has been documented in research by Harvard University’s Robert Putnam that ethnic diversity in neighborhoods has a corrosive effect, primarily because they maintain a separate culture and identity. In this ninth-in-a-series of FSM’s shocking reports on the horrors of illegal immigration, we suggest that America should look to its former presidents for guidance on how to overcome this dangerous situation....
John Hawkins - Human Events: The Great Illegal Immigration Myth of '06 Since the election, you may have heard pro-amnesty Republicans or liberals saying something like this, "The 2006 election proves that being tough on illegal immigration doesn't work as a political issue. Look at J.D. Hayworth, John Hostettler, Randy Graf and Henry Bonilla. After that debacle, the GOP is surely going to cave on illegal immigration now." Well, as someone who followed the election very closely and did a better job of calling winners and losers than almost all of the political pundits out there (My final predictions: five Senate seats lost and 22-29 seats in the House lost. Final numbers: six Senate seats lost and 30 House seats), I can tell you that being tough on illegal immigration didn't hurt the GOP in 2006....
VDARE: Identity Theft and Immigration Faye Bowers writes at the Christian Science Monitor: The latest roundup of illegal immigrants caught working in the US with fraudulent identifications - the largest single such work-site action ever - raises new questions about a link between illegal immigration and the growing problem of identity theft. Federal raids Tuesday at six meat-processing plants owned by Swift & Co. in six states resulted in the arrests of 1,282 people for immigration violation - with 65 also charged with identify theft or other criminal charges."
What I think was especially interesting about this article is it demonstrated how the practice of illegal immigration provides an important piece of infrastructure for other forms of criminal activity...
